There’s nothing better than getting out on the water on a hot summer day. With the abundance of pristine lakes and rivers, there are plenty of water ways to play in Alberta.
- River Surfing – The Green Tongue. Santa Clause. Point Break. In Alberta, we like to name the waves. River Surfing is becoming a serious sport with its own association.
- Kiteboarding – There are hundreds of kiteboarders chasing the wind on Alberta lakes and reservoirs – in summer and winter. Visitors can take a lesson or buy gear at Glory Kiteboarding in Calgary or Leading Edge in Edmonton.
- Flyboarding – Soar up to 15 m (50 ft) in the air with a jetpack from Canadian Jetpack Adventures, which has operations at Cold Lake, Gull Lake, Jackfish Lake, Sylvan Lake and Wabamun Lake.
- Rafting – There’s a host of companies offering white water rafting expeditions in the Canadian Rockies. If you’re looking for an exciting adventure outside the mountains, Mukwah Rafting Tours in Sundre offers excursions on the class 3 rapids of the Red Deer River.
