There is something magical about watching the orange glow of torches and the bright white lights of headlamps moving slowly down a freshly groomed ski run in utter darkness, but the experience is even more special for those actually participating. The laughs, hoots and hollers of visitors taking part in a Torchlight Dinner and Ski
event are just a small indication of how thrilling this after dark après ski experience can be.
Several times each ski season, Lake Louise Ski Resort
hosts the most unique and arguably best après ski party in the Canadian Rockies.
Mix and Mingle
The excitement begins at the mid-mountain Whitehorn Lodge, just as other guests are leaving the resort. At the lodge, party guests enjoy appetizers, après drinks and live music alongside the resort’s ski instructors and patrollers. Afterward, guests follow the ski instructors on a torchlight ski down a freshly groomed run. Non-skiers can watch from the bottom of the hill as the torches and headlamps descend to the base lodge.
Inside the Sitzmark Lounge at the base of the mountain in Whiskeyjack Lodge, a gourmet dinner, drinks, live music and line dancing keep the party rocking. Inexpensive transportation to Lake Louise and Banff is available to ensure that everyone gets home safe.
