Travel Alberta is excited to announce a social media milestone. The number of fans on Travel Alberta's Facebook page reached 100,000 just after 7:30 p.m. on January 10th, 2013 and continues to climb.
Through Facebook, Travel Alberta reaches out to fans in more than 20 countries worldwide to inspire potential travellers and display the fantastic experiences our province has to offer. Stunning video and imagery is shared to depict Alberta's authentic experiences in breathtaking landscapes to encourage visitation and conversations. The size of this community allows Travel Alberta to reach a broader audience and attract more visitors on a global scale.
"It is a priveledge to share our stories online with our community every day," said Nancy Smith, Social Media Manager at Travel Alberta. "The feedback and engagement we have with our fans is overwhelmingly positive."
To put this in context, Tourism BC has 72,000 fans, and Newfoundland has 34,000. Travel Alberta is leading Canada in social engagement.
