There are many ways to experience the Canadian Rocky Mountains but not many as unique or as intimate as a journey on horseback deep into the backcountry of Waterton Lakes National Park with
Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies (TRCR).
Each year, TRCR sets out to explore a different area of Alberta and this year, they have chosen
Waterton Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and International Peace Park, as their destination.
With six departures scheduled in July and August, the 6-day adventures include comfortable teepee and tent accommodation, gourmet home-cooked meals, ground transfers from Calgary, live entertainment and daily horseback excursions. En route to Waterton Lakes National Park, participants will also visit UNESCO World Heritage Site
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump to take in this significant historical and spiritual site for Alberta’s Blackfoot First Nations. Places on each departure are limited to 18 participants. The retail cost for the experience is $2,775 + taxes per person, with net rates available for tour operators.
For 92 years, TRCR has been leading wilderness adventures on horseback with comfort and enjoyment in mind for both novice and advanced riders. This non-profit organization operates to encourage travel on horseback through the Canadian Rockies while promoting the message of conservation.
