Spring is in the Air

Cardboard Box Downhill Derby at Lake Louise Ski Resort

We welcome spring with a wide variety of fresh activities suited to every age and ability.
  • Taking the Rockies as inspiration, Jasper Pride is a unique LGBTQ celebration March 9 to 12, 2017. Going beyond those predictable parades and raves, festivities range from outdoor adventure to sexy lumberjack parties to muppet making workshops.
  • Easter egg hunts are infinitely more interesting when kids have to dig in the snow for their chocolatey treats. Head to Mount Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Resort, Sunshine Village in Banff National Park or Marmot Basin in Jasper National Park for family-friendly Easter fun. Sunshine Village also offers a Non-denominational church service at the top of Strawberry Lift on Easter Sunday.
  • Barrelling down a mountain on a toboggan makes you feel like a kid again. But who wants to race a sled when you can build your own snow chariot? Makers prove their cardboard carpentry during the Cardboard Box Downhill Derby at Lake Louise Ski Resort on April 23.
  • Growth and rejuvenation is the theme at Spring Alive in Banff and Lake Louise. During this April/May festival, visitors are encouraged to explore something new, such as the Coors Light Snowchella Concert Series at Sunshine Village, a cultural performance at the world- renowned Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity or perfecting your downward dog at the Banff Yoga Festival
