There is a new face in town. The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is proud to announce the addition of Stanley to the lineup of esteemed Canine Ambassadors at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. Stanley, a two-year old Black Labrador Retriever, was appointed to his position earlier this month to help hotel guests settle into the mountains with a best friend by their side. He will be ready to greet guests and take them for walks at the end of November.
The Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind based in Manotick, Ontario, trained Stanley in the hope he would help one of the many Canadians in need of assistance. As Stanley worked through his training, his handlers could see this pooch was incredibly friendly, had an outgoing demeanor and had a genuine love of people. All the qualities perfect for a canine ambassador versus a guide dog. As a result, a change in careers was in order.
“We are thrilled to welcome Stanley to the Fairmont family,” said Markus Treppenhauer, General Manager at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. “We are certain that he will add to the warmth and friendliness of our mountain resort, and we know he is just as excited as we are.”
Stanley can be found most days in the lobby of the Main Lodge. Here he will greet guests; two and four legged alike, from all over to the warmth and hospitality of The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. At the end of a long day at the office Stanley will head home where he share quarters with The Lodge’s long-time Colleague Residence Manager. In his downtime, Stanley catches up on much needed rest, but make no mistake - this black Labrador Retriever loves to be active, taking in the sights and sounds of his surroundings every chance he gets.
As a pet friendly property, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge welcomes families to bring their furry friends along on vacation. As the need arises for a pet sitter, the team at The Lodge has a dedicated list of colleagues who are keen to take your furry family member while the humans enjoy dinner or numerous activities available in Jasper National Park.
