Northern Lands: New wine and craft beer festival coming to Edmonton March 27-28, 2015
EDMONTON, Alberta -- Wine and craft beer enthusiasts should to consider Edmonton as the place to be this March 27-28, 2015, with the new Northern Lands festival. The festival brings many of Canada's top winemakers, craft beer producers, distillers and chefs together in Edmonton.
The Northern Lands festival promises to give attendees a place to learn about craft beer and wine - to taste it and to drink it with food from some of Canada's top chefs. Attending chefs include Vikram Vij (Viji's / Rangoli), Dale MacKay and Nathan Guffenheimer (Ayden), Justin Leobe (Model Milk), Connie and John Jackson (Charcut), and Deependra Singh (Guru Fine Indian Cuisine).
Canadian wine has transformed in the last thirty years, from a curiosity into a daily ritual for many Canadians. Regional and international wine expos have long existed but until now there hasn't been one gathering place for all of Canada’s winemakers, big and small, from all of its regions: from Vancouver Island to Nova Scotia.
Festival organizers said, "When we were deciding to put this festival together, we thought: why stop at wine? We invited craft beer producers and distillers too. And we’re pairing it all with some of Canada’s finest chefs — in Edmonton one of Canada's most entrepreneurial cities."
