Forget the altitude, the views along the race courses in our Rockies threaten to take your breath away. Some of the most epic destination races that draw athletes from around the world include:
  • The Jasper Canadian Rockies Half Marathon on April 8, 2017, includes a 10 km (6 mi), 5 km (3 mi) and Family Fun Run. The route takes you through Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge property and around jade-hued Lake Edith.
  • Jasper’s Gran Fondo offers four fantastic routes to choose from on June 10, 2017. At 65 km (40 mi), the Piccolo Fondo is suited for all abilities, while the 100 km (62 mi) Medio, 165 km (103 mi) Gran Fondo and 190 km (118 mi) Forte Fondo offer more challenging terrain including steep mountain climbs.
  • RBC GranFondo Banff that winds its way around Lake Minnewanka, past the Hoodoos and up Tunnel Mountain on August 19, 2017. A new, 90km (56 mi) Medio route allows riders to experience the same sweeping vistas, but avoids the steepest climb.
  • Extreme runners bookmark the Banff Marathon (June 18, 2017) and Canmore’s Grizzly Ultra Marathon (October 8, 2017).
