Are you feeling as if the summer is slipping away far too quickly? Still not ticked off those must-do hikes, or had quite enough time recharging in the mountains? Fear not – locals will tell you that Fall is a very special time to find yourself exploring in Banff National Park, particularly spending your days in Lake Louise as it glows in golden colours and the air is filled with that fresh, alpine scent of Fall. To celebrate this distinctive window of time - where the larches transform some of Lake Louise’s favourite hiking trails into a spectacular orange, natural playground – Banff National Park has ‘WonderFall’
(September 5 – October 12).
Whether you’d like to challenge yourself to the Tea House Challenge, capture the colours of Fall with your DLSR during a photography workshop, take a gondola ride with the family and admire the views with a hot chocolate in hand or just take a hike (or horseback ride!) and absorb this unique time of year, WonderFall has it covered.
Plus, ever wondered what the larch tree is and what makes Lake Louise’s lakes that turquoise-blue colour, or where to find the best foodie hotspots to refuel after a hike or, would you like top-tips on how to enjoy Lake Louise like a local and get off the beaten path during larch season? If so, keep checking for regular insider posts on the Real Banff
