Banff, AB -- Banff’s entertainment scene is about to be taken to a new level. The Banff Hospitality Collective is opening High Rollers
, a retro themed bowling alley & beer hall in the lower level of Clock Tower Mall.
“We wanted to build a place that was really fun with a unique social atmosphere and thought bowling was a good way for people of all ages to get together and have a great time” says Operating Partner Jordan Mendelman. “We followed the craft beer hall trend but the bowling and games just take it to a new level that’s super fun.”
The unique feel of the newly renovated space is immediate; a neon outline of a retro bowler girl hangs over the entry stairs and each of the 48 draught taps is topped with a hand painted bowling pin. Clearly, this is not your typical bowling alley. Banff Hospitality Collective worked with RAD, one of Canada’s emerging architectural firms, to design a space that was totally different. Complete with six ten pin bowling lanes, two bocce courts and foosball, High Rollers has got fun covered.
And it’s not all about the bowling. Banff Hospitality Collective Chef Liz Gagnon wanted to create a bowling alley menu where quality was paramount. “I’ve always loved the huge New York style slices and this is just really something we wanted to bring to Banff. Perfecting the dough was really important – it took a lot of trial & error but I’m really proud of what we’ve made and I think people are going to love it – our testers sure have!”
’ menu features hand stretched 18 inch ‘New York’ style pizzas piled high with fun toppings like Mac n’ Cheese and The New Yorker that’s topped with sliced housemade meatballs, ricotta & pepperoncini. There are other classic bowling alley favourites like wings, nachos with queso cheese & a footlong slaw dog. Those wanting to enjoy great pizza at home will be happy to learn that High Rollers has a takeaway counter.
High Rollers will be open daily from 11:30 am – 2:00 am with league night every Tuesday. Kids’ birthday parties, groups and private functions will be welcomed. Let the good times roll!
