The biggest and best live-action sports festival in the world hits Edmonton this fall as the FISE (Festival International des Sports Extrêmes) World Series makes the city its only Canadian stop. Created in 1997, FISE is the 3rd largest event gathering in France after the Tour de France and the Vendee Globe, and has become an event not-to-be-missed for all action sports fans.

In addition to Edmonton, the FISE World Series will hold competitions throughout 2016 in Montpellier, France; Osijek, Croatia; Denver, USA; and Chengdu, China.

Free to the public, the event will see some of the world’s top athletes compete in spectacular disciplines such as BMX Freestyle, MTB Slopestyle, BMX Flat and Skateboard. Last year's event in Montpellier, France attracted over 500,000 spectators and 1,800 competitors. For three days, Edmonton’s Hawrelak Park will be transformed into a family-friendly festival atmosphere featuring international competition, sensational live entertainment, retail vendors, a beer garden, and other activities associated with the urban culture of action sports.
