Just in time for the Edmonton Oilers 2016-17 hockey season comes the ICE District – Canada’s largest mixed-use sports and entertainment district. Taking shape in the heart of Edmonton, the ICE District will transform the downtown core with everything from restaurants, a movie theatre complex and casino, to office towers, condominiums, a JW Marriott luxury hotel and retail stores.

Additionally, there will be a bustling 50,000 sq. ft. public plaza offering all-season fun, and the Winter Garden, 24,000 sq. ft. of public event space for corporate and cultural events, music and more. Spread over 25 acres, the Ice District will infuse a new energy unlike anything the downtown has seen before. Upon completion in fall 2016, Rogers Place will be the most advanced sports and entertainment venue in North America. The first NHL facility in Canada designed to meet LEED Silver standards, the new home to the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL) will feature the largest true HD scoreboard and will seat 18,500 hockey fans and 20,000 concertgoers.
