– Experience the wonder and charm of an old-fashioned Christmas during Once Upon A Christmas
, returning to Heritage Park Historical Village Saturdays and Sundays, November 19 until December 18, from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This time-honoured tradition is the perfect way to get into the true spirit of the holidays!
Start your day with our delicious Christmas Breakfast Buffet, served each day of the event in the Wainwright Hotel and Gunn’s Dairy Barn. Tickets for the buffet must be pre-purchased by calling 403-268-8500, Monday through Friday.
Take a festive horse-drawn wagon ride around the village, and then warm up by a crackling fire. Sing traditional carols in the cozy warmth of the little church and visit the historical homes decked out for the season. Catch the entertaining holiday musical in the Canmore Opera House or join in a song or two with the costumed roving carolers. Enjoy Christmas model train displays, decorate gingerbread cookies and visit the petting zoo. Pick up one-of-a-kind decorations for the tree or gifts to place underneath, from the quaint shops in the village and in the Haskayne Mercantile Block. Children can make holiday crafts, shop for Mom and Dad in our Kids Only Store with the help of a volunteer, and visit with Santa in Gasoline Alley Museum. A photographer will be on site for unique and optional Santa photos.
Capture your holiday memories with an antique portrait from the Park Lane Portrait Studio, now located in the heart of the historical village. The Portrait Studio is open weekends only during Once Upon A Christmas.
