Hotel Arts completes a seven million dollar guestroom and corridor renovation.

by Hotel Arts Group

As soon as the 2014 Calgary Stampede came to a close, Hotel Arts started a seven million dollar renovation focused on giving its guestrooms and corridors a design and functionality update. Working with award-winning B+H CHIL out of Vancouver, Hotel Arts has completely renovated its Luxury Tower unveiling twelve floors of the newest and stylish hotel rooms in the city.

Hotel Arts opened in July 2005 after a group of local investors purchased the Holiday Inn Downtown and transformed it into Calgary’s first designer boutique-style hotel. At the time, Hotel Arts was heralded for introducing a new aesthetic in the marketplace. Nearly 10 years later, the hotel rooms have been transformed again with leading edge design.

“We are excited to introduce our guests to our newly renovated Luxury Tower with its brighter décor, enhanced functionality and the addition of some artistic touches in both the hallways and guestrooms,” states Mark Wilson, Vice President and General Manager of the Hotel Arts Group.

“B+H CHIL helped create the right balance of a welcoming restful room with smart functionality as well as incorporating unique design elements. The new look should appeal to corporate and leisure travelers alike.”

“Incorporating art as the driving force of the design process was super exciting for us. Often properties consider this to be a finishing touch rather than a strong feature and selling point” says Adèle Rankin, Senior Associate with B+H CHIL. The group has worked on many projects in the hospitality sector including the Shangri-La in Toronto and Vancouver, The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver and the L’Hermitage Hotel in Vancouver.

“The design was very different from anything we’ve done recently and we loved seeing so many of the features come together” remarks Adèle. This latest renovation is the culmination of a series of changes that have occurred at Hotel Arts. In February 2013, the property opened Yellow Door Bistro, Raw Bar by Duncan Ly completed a makeover and concept redesign in October 2013 and, in November 2013, the lobby underwent a transformation with the addition of new furnishings including eclectic Moooi Pig Tables.
