The world's best skier cross athletes are coming together in Alberta for the second time! As the first stop on the ski cross World Cup circuit, the second annual Audi FIS Nakiska Ski Cross World Cup will set the stage for the upcoming season. This fast-paced event, where four people pull out of start gates at once and race 60 to 80 km/h while navigating a course that is full of berms, straightaways and jumps, is an important opportunity for Canadian skiers, like Danielle Sundquist, to earn points towards qualifying for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. With 190 of the world's best skiers vying for the $80,000 in prize money up for grabs, the weekend will be jam-packed with quick turns, daring passes and big air.

Come and support the Olympic Medal hopefuls at Calgary’s Closest Mountain (just 50 minutes from Calgary), there will be 2 exciting days of races.  The Nakiska Ski Cross World Cup is this Friday and Saturday, December 6/7 and will include a day of training, qualifications with the finals on Saturday.  More information on the Alpine Canada Official Event Site – www.alpinecanada.org/nakiskaskicross.
